The double hinge on this is great. When you need that extra flexibility to get a good view and shot, it helps a lot handling it more comfortably. It held my phone with no issue out of the box, but there's an included hex key to tighten/loosen hinges are you see fit. Even though it's metal, it's lightweight and you don't have to worry about it bending/breaking. The magnet has a good hold for your phone and the other side is strong enough to handle any accessories you may want to add. An extra shoe at the stem of this might've made it even more customizable but not a big deal. Overall it's a useful accessory to use my camera/devices with my phone very flexibly.

Honestly, I prefer using my phone as a monitor, and this MagSafe mount is helping me do the job. The quality is chef kiss. It comes with a tiny wrench keys tighten the mount if need be. The magnet is strong. If your phone is heavier than the camera and lens, then I’d suggest using only a heavy duty tripod. Because it will tip over.

I ordered this on a whim, as I often shoot with a handheld video camera and mount my iPhone on top as an external monitor or to shoot additional footage. I have a standard clamp mount and it's a pain to remove the phone from the camera in a hurry to shoot something else with the phone.

When the box arrived I thought it was going to be too small, but it folds up into a nice size for travel. At first I thought the hinges on the mount were frozen in place, but they were not. The hinges are nice and stiff but movable when needed. They've also included a hex wrench to you can adjust the hinges to your specs. I'll be keeping mine tight as I had issue this week filming with my standard rig because when I tilted upwards the phone on it's bracket would swing towards me as the phone has a lot of weight. They clearly had this in mind when making this bracket, but there's still a some give when moving quickly. It's simply the weight of the phone and the distance it is on the mount from the base and that's physics for you. It's going to take some time to see if I need to keep tightening the screws in the hinges or if it will hold long term, but it's easy enough to tilt the camera back if it does move. It's not 100% locked down but good enough for most uses.

The magnet that connects to the MagSafe area on my phone is strong and protected by plastic on one side to help prevent phone scratches and allow you to rotate the phone as needed. It's big enough to use the phone in both landscape and portrait. I tried shaking it around and the hinge moves long before the phone comes off. There's also a sticky metal ring included for phones that don't have a magnetic back. Overall I'm very impressed and it exceeded my exceptions so far. It would also work great for moving it to different tripods, clamp mounts, or suction mounts.

IMO, this is an exceptionally useful tool for people who take video and photos at the same time.

There are so many uses for this type of phone mount, it should be standard equipment for any photography enthusiast. You can use it stationary on a tripod, but I think it really excels as a field device that combines camera & phone (or phone & phone) to provide a video & still photo shooting experience.

Small and thin, but sturdy at the same time, and well finished.
The MagSafe holder works great with the phone without a case. With a case it's more complicated, but a magnet to stick on the case is provided and it works perfectly!

The holder can be attached in any direction on the camera shoe, and the two pivot points are sufficient.

For my part, I simply had to tighten the screws a bit so that the holder held up well despite the weight of the phone.

This phone mount works pretty well for my iPhone with a magsafe case. The magnets are strong, and I like that it clips onto tripods or cameras too ( I use a K&F tripod and a A7iii). The adjustable angles are nice, but it can pop off if you bump it or put something heavier on it. Overall, it’s handy for casual use, just don’t expect it to hold up under a lot of movement.
